Where Ancient Wisdom Meets Modern Excellence

Since 1979, we have been nurturing young minds through our unique Panchamukhi Shikshana system on the sacred banks of River Tunga, near the holy Shringeri. Holistic education where ancient Vedic wisdom blends with modern academic excellence — completely free of cost.

Our Story

A Journey of 46+ Years

The trust that gave birth to Prabodhini Gurukula came into existence in 1979. Our headquarters, Chitrakoota, is nestled in Hariharapura on the banks of the holy River Tunga — near Shringeri, where Sri Jagadguru Shankaracharya performed his tapas.

Our Gurukula was born from a critical need: there is education in our country, but there is often a lack of Bharatiya values in it. How can we build an ideal Bharat without incorporating Bharatiya features into our education system?

What began as a small initiative has blossomed into a premier institution producing scholars who are deeply rooted in Vedic knowledge while excelling in modern academic and professional fields. We provide completely free residential education, boarding, lodging, and medical care.
